Songs penned within the band, by friends, mentors, and heroes have always been a driving force of Mike’s musical interests. Mike recorded his most recent solo record on the white sand banks of Gatorbone Lake. The record was inspired by a sense of discovery and love for places within, and the songs of Florida as described by Mike’s own songwriting but also some Floridian touchstones - Don Oja-Dunaway and Lon Williamson to name a couple who are covered on the record. The songs were influenced by the landscape, the people, and the songs that Mike grew up around and to where he keeps returning to in his adult life for inspiration.
